The Sixty Plus is a group of Seniors (and some not so Senior) that meet the second Friday of each month at 12:00 p.m. in the First Lutheran Fellowship Hall for a potluck noon meal. Each month, a short program is given by someone in the community or an individual within the group. Members of the group take their turn serving as hosts and hostesses.
The Men’s Discussion Group meets each Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. in the First Lutheran Fellowship Hall to discuss current issues of today that range in a variety of topics.
During the summer months when things move a bit slower, after the 9:00 a.m. worship is a Coffee Fellowship hour. Members take their turn hosting each week. Hosts are responsible for providing beverages as well as donuts, cookies, cake, or another snack.
The Algona Family YMCA throughout the year sponsors two church league of which members may participate. These include co-ed slow pitch softball in the summer months and co-ed volleyball in the winter months. Participants must be 14 years of age. |
