VBS Volunteers are needed to help in the following areas: Kitchen Coordinator & Helpers; Preschool Teacher & Helper: Classroom Assistants: Decorating; and Transportation. Sixty Plus Potluck ~ May 9! The May 9 program for the Sixty Plus potluck will be about the ways that unscrupulous people scheme to rob others of their important personal information, their money, and ultimately their dignity. Please join us to hear Barb Erickson from the Elderbridge Agency talk about ways to protect ourselves and our financial resources from identity theft, scams and healthcare fraud. Barb will also share information about the services provided by the Elderbridge Agency on Aging. Please join us on May 9 at noon to hear this informative program, share a meal, and enjoy good company. Please bring your own table service and a main dish, salad or dessert to share. Bullet Edger Challenge! Bob Speich is challenging all members of First Lutheran to purchase needed “bullet edgers” for around the church building. He is purchasing 80 to begin this challenge. All edgers will be installed at a later time this spring. Unsure what a bullet edger is? Check out the front of the church- an edger is what holds the rock in place.
Altar Guild Meeting: On Monday, May 12 at 5:15 p.m. all Altar Guild volunteers, those who may be interested in volunteering, and those who are interested in who we are and what we do to come and get acquainted/re-acquainted with each other and the way in which we serve the church. Preparing for Holy Communion, Holy Baptism, and the various parament and decorative changes for each of the six seasons of the Church year will be discussed as well as the new opportunities and changes that Evangelical Lutheran Worship (the ELW Hymnal) makes available to congregations.
Lutheran Lakeside Needs Camp Staff! Lutheran Lakeside is currently looking for about eight counselors and two to five support staff. If you know of a high school or college student who may be interested or are 16+ years old and are hunting for a summer job, please let me know!
