Sunday School |
Educational opportunities are offered in order to nurture and
prepare us to live according to God’s Word. We provide Sunday School for
all ages. Sunday School is held at 9:15 am each Sunday morning September
through May (excluding two weeks in December during Christmas and Easter
Sunday) and includes Nursery (age 3), Preschool (age 4) through High School
and Adult Education.
Our Sunday School classes are
involved in a Christmas Program each December.

First Lutheran offers a
week-long Vacation Bible School program (usually the first or second week in
June). VBS runs from 5:30 pm-8:00 pm with a light supper being served each
evening. Each night the children participate in Bible Adventures, music,

Confirmation
Classes |

"Confirmation" is a period of
time set aside for young people to seriously study the Christian faith. After
this period of study the students re-affirm their relationship with Jesus
Christ. For many young people, this is a time when the faith they've heard about
becomes alive in a new and fresh way. At First Lutheran, we sponsor a
two and one-half year Confirmation program for seventh, eighth and ninth
grade students. Students are confirmed in May of their ninth grade year.
The requirements for
confirmation are as follows:
-
Attend Confirmation class on a regular basis.
7th Grade begin their instruction in January through early May, each
Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm.
8th Grade meets weekly from September through early May, each Wednesday
from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
9th Grade meets weekly from September through early May, each Wednesday
from 6:15 - 7:15 pm.
-
Attend weekly worship service and
participate in Sunday School.
-
Submit a total of 12 worship notes yearly.
-
Attend Confirmation Camp at Lutheran
Lakeside Camp, normally the summer following 7th grade.

Early in the year we provide
the opportunity for children in Second Grade to partake of their First

classes that focus on the sacrament of Holy Communion.
